Description:
The Data Flow Engineer will use software, scripts, and NIAGARAFILES (NiFi) plug-ins to provide a resilient data flow architecture. Engineer, design, develop, and roll out Data Flow Systems. Provide software and flow management support to sustain the deployed products. NiFi is the primary tool for Data Flow Management, and expertise with the product is required. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development and data flow environment.
Responsibilities:
- Participate as a data flow representative in research activities and analysis of alternatives for the introduction of new technologies into the enterprise
- Participate as a data flow representative in requirements engineering, designing, and the roll-out of Data Flow Systems
- Trace the flow of data, determine where data has stopped, determine what caused the error, fix the problem or task the appropriate labor category to fix the problem, and restore the data flow
- Write after-action report for data flow issues
- Document the data flow
Education / Experience:
- B.S. + 6 yers of relevant experience
- H.S. + 10 years of relevant experience
- 2 years developing, testing, integrating Data Flows and Data Flow systems
- 1 year using corporate Data Flow tools such as NiFi
- IAT Level 1 (or higher) Certification
