Communications/Network Engineer IV:
Provide support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, voice and video) requirements, designs and orders.
Provide in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives for government agencies in support of their strategic modernization efforts.
Provide telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunications infrastructures.
Provide interface support to telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management.
A minimum of 2 years experience in network design to include routing, switching and network security.
A minimum of 1 year of experience with at least one of CISCO 2800, 3600 and 7500 series routers.
A minimum of 1 year of experience with either Catalyst 3700 or 6500 series switches.
Ability to resolve network problems and operate network analyzers.
Minimum of 1 year experience in implementing Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, terminal servers, and NTP servers.
A minimum of 2 years of cable and wire harness fabrication to include 12 pair cabling to EIA530 and RS449, Twinax, coax, CAT 5E, single and multimode fiber optic cables, and the testing and certifying of cables in accordance with current Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)
workmanship and quality standards.
